Our holiday cottages; Byre Cottage, Coquet Cottage, Reivers Cottage, Cheviot Cottage, Pheasant Lodge and Pine Lodge are located in a wooded valley on the banks of the River Coquet on the boarders of the beautiful Northumberland National Park. Our position near Cragside, Rothbury, Alnwick and Hadrian's Wall, along with the likes of Bamburgh, Berwick, Craster, Holy Island and Seahouses on Northumberland's Heritage Coast, cannot be improved on for a family holiday in Northumberland. You can view our prices and availability on-line.
The holiday cottages lie opposite to Harbottle Forest and the surrounding area is home to an abudance of British wildlife including red squirrels, otters and black lizards. Situated in a perfect location for wildlife that make their homes within rural forests or around rivers and waterways. The wildlife in the areas around the cottages is one of the most rich and varied in the whole of England. You can find out more about wildlife in Northumberland from the Northumberland Wildlife Trust.
We are also situated inside the Northumberland Dark Sky Park, the largest Dark Sky Park in Europe and home to the darkest skies in England. This makes it the perfect location for viewing of the night sky and a fantastic holiday destination for anyone interested in astronomy or stargazing.
There is a village pub within walking distance that specialises in traditional home cooked food, it is one of many such establishments with a short distance from the cottages and the nearby town of Rothbury is a perfect example of where the smaller, local specialist stores mix with the more modern shops in a way that is unique to the British countryside. Both ASDA and Sainsbury's deliver directly to the cottages in another show of modern convenience.
The cottages are able to give something to all be it walkers, pet owners, wildlife enthusiasts or stargazers; our aim is to give our guests the best hoiliday they could ask for.
