This privacy notice tells you what to expect when you visit the Low Alwinton Cottages website, what information we collect and how we use it.

What information we collect about you

When you make a booking with us we collect the name, the Home address, email address and telephone number of the person making the booking. We also collect the name of the person who is paying for the stay. We do not collect the data for any credit or debit cards, this is handled on our behalf by secure third party websites Freetobook and PayPal.

How we use the information we hold on you

We will use your email address to send you confirmation of the booking and an email with more details on how to find us and other information you may find useful for your stay. We will not use your telephone number to contact you unless it for an emergency and/or we have been unable to contact you by email.

We will not use your details to contact you for marketing purposes or for any reason other than in regards to your stay at Low Alwinton Cottages.

How is your data stored

All of the personal and debit/credit card data you supply us, as part of the booking process, is stored securely on third party systems, Freetobook and PayPal.

Guest Registration

We require all guests booking through us to complete a registration form prior to arrival. We keep these forms safely in a locked filing cabinet. We are required to keep these registration forms for a year for legal purposes.

Visitors to our website

On our website we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect information about how visitors use our website. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to various parts of the site. Google Analytics stores information about:

  • The pages you visit on our website

  • How long you spend on each page

  • How you got to our website

  • What parts of our website you click on

We do not collect or store any personal information through Google Analytics, any information that is collected cannot be used to identify anyone. If we do need to collect any personally identifiable information through our website, we will be up front about this. Information gathered through Google Analytics is used to improve our website based on how you use it.

Comments, contact & communications

If at any point you wish to contact Low Alwinton Cottages through our website we will require certain personal information to be entered, including your name, email address and an optional phone number. The data we require is limited to only what is necessary for us to be able to return contact with yourself and is neither stored nor shared for anything beyond the intended purpose.

When leaving a comment on our website the details entered are used only to confirm that a comment is valid and from a legitimate source. Low Alwinton Cottages will not share any comments made on our website with any external agencies but, if permission is granted, may reserve the right to use them on adverts, marketing material or other media for Low Alwinton Cottages.
